This group retreat with the Sakyong, is for vajrayana practitioners who are inspired to move toward the solitary Scorpion Seal retreat in the future. Scorpion Seal Assemblies will provide the path of training that will prepare students to enter into the solitary retreat. There will be four phases to the Assemblies, taking four or more years to complete. Each year will correspond to the themes and practices of each of the respective four weeks of the solitary retreat. That is, year one will focus on the first week of the Scorpion Seal solitary retreat and so on. It is possible that this coming summer might also include teachings on both the first and second week of the retreat.
The Scorpion Assembly will be much like the retreat with the acharyas in the Kalapa Valley. There will be intensive meditation practice as well as teachings on the Scorpion Seal. Entering into these Assemblies will mark the beginning of a path of daily practice and study. That is, between each year, there will be suggests for how to deepen the experience of the Scorpion Seal teachings and prepare to move into the next phase of the retreat.
