"Maitri can be translated as love. It means a warm, friendly attitude. In making friends with someone, it means accepting their neurosis as well as their sanity. Maitri is an all-encompassing friendship that relates with the destructiveness of nature as well as with its creativity. But the first step is trust in ourselves. Such trust can only come about when there is no categorizing, no judgment, but a simple and direct relationship with our being." - Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
Founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the practice of Maitri is an exploration of the five primordial energies that are ever-present in the world. First elaborated as a therapeutic tool, this practice is for everyone who desires travel the path of self discovery . This includes all aspects of ourselves and our relationship to the world.
The basis of this practice is working with colors, postures and environment allowing us to understand the full display of our personality, our emotions, as well as our relationship to the world and beings. It is then possible for us to learn to trust our own creativity, power of expressiveness and to recognize the fundamental union of wisdom and confusion.
