"Some time after attending the Rigden abhisheka, (or after 20,000 prostrations if practicing Kagyü or Rigden ngöndro by number) and before completing the Four Root Dharma requirements, the Sakyong would like students to attend three ten-day group mahamudra retreats, or the one month program that is currently offered by some of our practice centers. These mahamudra investigation retreats are intended to be done alongside our main practices. One's practice of mahamudra, along with the sadhanas and the inner yogas of the four root dharmas, will provide a good foundation for the dzokchen practices of trekchö and thögal."
